I'd love to be there, but, unfortunately, am prevented by a prior engagement (teaching summer school).

I'm certain it will be a scintillating event.

"I'm certain it will be a scintillating event."

You put your finger on it. Folks around here are saying it should put the scintle in scintillate.

If your name were any redder and any bigger it would put the reader's eye out.

Is this what you've been dancing around the Maypole about?

Seriously, this sounds like (as though it will be) a fun panel, wish I could be there (me and my pea shooter).

Sorry . . . I can't help myself.

I'm still trying to discover the HTML coding to make it flash on and off like a neon sign . . .

And how much fun it'd be if you could be! Do you ever stray to this side of the Pond?

Darn it! This is right up the road from my current location (I'm at an unnamed university in Wayne), but we have a faculty & alumni event in - ugh - 13 minutes. Oh, how I'd rather meet you.

Have a drink for me. :)

Yikes -- I didn't realize you were so close by! We must find an occasion to get our folks together for the beering part of the process . . . or, come to think of it, to participate in future panels like the Ringwood one tonight. This was organized under the auspices of the NJ Writers' Group on Yahoo; would you like me to e-mail details?

Oh, I'd love it! (Is it okay that I'm a geochemist, not a writer?) My email is delia dot barry at gmail dot com.

Yeah, well . . .

Books like Corrupted Science attract a lot of (a) angry holy rollers and (b) intelligent kids. I don't want to draw down additional flak on myself by giving the former an excuse to huff'n'puff 'til they've blown up a furor with LJ's owners, and neither do I wish to run the risk of having parents of the latter complain to LJ about the occasional profanity I (or commenters) might use. So it's just easier to have the warning.
